Volunteers Help Beautify Our Campus
by Luci Latimer, PTA Grounds Committee Chairperson

On Sunday, March 1st, 11 hardy volunteers braved barely 40-degree temperatures to pick up litter, plant flowers, prune shrubs and water thirsty plants at the Kindergarten Annex. A great big thanks goes out to: Jami Knause, Karen Mauldin, Jill Ivie, Gena Wright, Deb and Brent Nations and daughters, Kate and Emma plus Luci and Lee Latimer and their daughter, Lauren.  In addition, fresh flowers and plants have found new homes in the planters around campus and this past Wednesday, Jill Ivie and Elizabeth Jackson lent their time and enthusiasm to beautify the front of the OHE main building.

Help us keep our campus beautiful! If you are interested in joining the grounds committee, please contact Luci Latimer.

Carnival was fun!
by Heather Sendera, Carnival Chairperson

Thank you for making this year’s Carnival a success!
I cannot thank everyone enough: the volunteers who worked the booths, the teachers who jumped in to staff their class booths, the parents who got pulled from the crowd and put to work and, of course, the Moms and Dads who kept supplying money for pizza, train rides and confetti eggs. We could not have done it without each and every one of you!!

I will report all of the financials ASAP but please know that we had an amazing night and I hope that you all enjoyed it as much as I did! The money that we raised will go into projects and programs that directly affect all of our kids. And, again, we owe it all to our fantastic OHE families.

I would like to specifically thank Sunny Kenkare, Brandi Kinkade, Vali Martin, Holly Fullerton, Mrs. Whistler, DeeDee Eastwood, Monica Herrera, Mike Hemmer, Ana Fulton, Mrs. Garrick, Frances Loera and her crew, Mary Jelinek in the Cafeteria, and all of the NJHS volunteers from Small and O’Henry. I am sure I am leaving someone out and I apologize! And I would also like to thank all of our OHE teachers for not only giving our children an excellent education but for publicizing the Carnival and getting the kids excited enough to drag their parents out on a Friday night!

Thank you again for helping to create a wonderful family experience while raising money for our Oak Hill Eagles!
