Welcome to the Oak Hill Elementary Math Pentathlon
page. This page is dedicated to
providing you – the parent – with information about a program which will help
your child strengthen Math skills. Math
Pentathlon Program (MPP) is supported by
a national organization that primarily utilizes games and other fun activities to
teach problem solving concepts, and at the same time helping the child to
develop critical thinking supported by the strategies they will learn.
MPP at OHE is all about having fun. As noted, we play games,
have friendly competition, and learn without even knowing we are doing so! The net effect is an appreciation for
practical uses of math which results in better scores in the classroom. Your child will also develop social skills
such as respect and good sportsmanship.
Finally, there is an open opportunity to participate as a “Pentathlete”
in the local, state, and national tournaments which are held each year. OHE has sent participants to the local and
state tournaments with excellent results.
