Our PTA President
Welcome
to the Oak Hill PTA. Have you ever asked yourself “What does the PTA
do?” Well, let me tell you. First, we sell those cool Oak Hill T-shirts
and sweatshirts. We put on that awesome carnival every year. Both of
these activities, and many of the other public events we put on, are
designed to foster a sense of connection to your child’s school.
We also do many more things behind the scenes. Those fairly new computers that are in your child’s classroom? Those were bought by the PTA with your membership funds. The PTA also provides scholarships for graduating seniors who are former Oak Hill students to help with college costs.
In addition to the activities that we have done in the past, we have added several new activities this year including an Ice Cream Social on Friday October 16th and a family Movie Night on Friday November 13th. We will be inviting guest speakers to our general PTA meetings to give you tips on foods you can pack in your child’s lunch that follow the U.S.D.A Food Pyramid as well as a talk by our Oak Hill Elementary Principal Terry Whistler.
Oh, and we love volunteers. You can do as much or as little as you want, but there is guaranteed to be some committee that matches your interests. So, I invite you to peruse the PTA website and find out what you can do to help us enrich the lives of our children. After all, we all benefit when all children are allowed to fulfill their potential.
